Harmontronics: Automotive High-Speed Transmission Wire Harness Solution Selected for MIIT's 2024 Intelligent Manufacturing System Solution "Challenge Oriented Project"

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the list of selected projects for its 2024 Intelligent Manufacturing System Solution Challenge Oriented Initiative. Six solutions from Jiangsu based enterprises were shortlisted, including Harmontronics' Automotive High-Speed Transmission Wire Harness Solution.

The Challenge Oriented Projects for Intelligent Manufacturing System Solutions are jointly launched by the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the General Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). This initiative aims to fully implement the Action Plan for the Digital Transformation of the Manufacturing Industry issued by the General Office of the State Council, deliver tasks outlined in the 14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Intelligent Manufacturing, build a three in one working system covering smart factories, system solutions and standard systems, and upgrade the intelligent manufacturing sector.

The project seeks to identify and foster a group of professional suppliers with core technologies, deep niche industry expertise and industrial background. It strengthens integrated innovation that links intelligent manufacturing equipment, industrial software and systems, advances the development and application of national and industrial intelligent manufacturing standards, and promotes the development, verification and replication of advanced, applicable, self controllable intelligent manufacturing system solutions and services.

Harmontronics' Automotive High-Speed Wiring Harness Solution adopts a highly intelligent fully automatic processing model that significantly reduces reliance on manual labor, with ≤2 operators required per machine, helping customers cut labor costs.

It uses high precision linear length measurement technology based on encoders to accurately measure wire length, achieving a measurement error of less than 0.6% and a CPK value of ≥1.33. Combined with core technologies such as coaxial control and pressure detection, it ensures stable processes and improves product consistency and reliability, delivering a product pass rate of ≥98%.

Vision inspection technology is applied to check product dimensions and appearance by image capture and comparison with preset values, guaranteeing product quality.

Equipped with a user friendly intelligent human machine interface and highly compatible third party data interfaces (e.g., MES, SCADA), the solution enables real time process data monitoring via an intelligent monitoring system.

Supported by highly intelligent fully automatic processing, Harmontronics' solution achieves a takt time of ≤4.5 seconds per wire harness and a product changeover time of ≤30 minutes, boosting production efficiency with an Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) of ≥85% to enhance customer productivity.This solution has been deployed by world leading automotive component manufacturers.
